ACSA East Region Shore League 23 November 2025 Cold Knap, Porthkerry, Rhoose & Fontygary
The last leg of the ACSA East Region Shore League was fished on the 23rd November at Cold Knap, Porthkerry, Rhoose & Fontygary. Weather conditions were a bit mixed with a fresh Westerly wind, sunshine and a few heavy showers. 56 out of 64 anglers caught fish totalling 115 kgs, which was made up of 9 different species consisting of blonde / thornback rays, conger eel, dogfish, pouting, bull huss, 3-bearded rockling, poor cod, & bass,
Top five individuals:
First was Mr consistent, Lloyd Summers, fishing for Knockout Baits, with 9.639kgs consisting of 6 conger eels & a dog fish.
Runner was Gwent Don't Knows team member Ken Shove with 6.8kgs consisting of a blonde ray, 3 dog fish & a pouting.
Third Place was Knockout Baits team member & the current Garry Evans Seamaster champion Shaun Tucker with 3 conger eels a dog fish & a pouting for 6.64kgs.
Fourth place went to Joe Arch from Cardiff with 6.5kgs. Consisting of 4 conger eels 3 dog fish & 2 pouting Joe also took the most fish pool with a total of 9 fish.
Fifth place went to Caerau SAC team member Gavin Jones with 4.62 kgs. Consisting of 2 conger eels & a dogfish.
Best specimen pool was again not won, so there is a double roll over where the specimen fish will be a rockling on the first leg of the 2026 series. 1st & 2nd heaviest rockling.
The overall individual competition was again a tight affair with a number of anglers in contention for the 3 prizes of ANY FISH ANYWHERE rods supplied by the event sponsor Julian Shambrook.

It was the Knockout Baits trio who took the first three overall points positions

1st Shaun Tucker with 561 fish points for 82.299kgs. Shaun won a AnyFish AnyWhere rod of his chioce.
2nd Lloyd Summers with 511 fish points for 74.119kgs. Lloyd won a AnyFish AnyWhere Six & Bait.
3rd Scott Busher with 509 fish points for 74.14 kgs. Scott also won a AnyFish AnyWhere Six & Bait.
4th Dean Downe with 507 fish points for 59.66 kgs.
5th Leigh Davies with 500.5fish points for 67.671 kgs.
Congratulations to Shaun Tucker for winning the Double this year. Shore League top individual & Garry Evans Seamaster Champion.

1st Knockout Baits with 447 fish points, 12 team points.
2nd Caerau SAC with 391fish points, 11 team points.
3rd Wriggers Baits with 344 fish points, 10 team points.
4th Keens Fishing Tackle with 340 fish points, 9 team points.
5th Holton Road SAC with 329 fish points, 8 team point.
Overall top five overall team positions for the series.
1st Knockout Baits eam with 65 points.
2th Keens Fishing Tackle with 59 points.
3rd Reel Fishing with 56 points.
4th South Wales Matchmen with 53 points.
5th Wriggers Baits with 52 points.

During the event an extensive fund-raising raffle was held for the Junior Welsh International Team. There were well over 30 prizes donated to the raffle by clubs, individuals, & businesses, notably Angling Ambitions, Gwent SAC & Pinnacle Angling.
A massive £832 was raised. Junior Manager Ben Worsey wishes to thank everyone for their generosity.

TATA STEEL SAC Open 16th November 2025 at Aberavon
This 77 peg match run by Tata Steel SAC was fished held on 16th November at Aberavon beach. Weather on the day turned out almost prefect with a slight westerly breeze. Unfortunately, there was a lack of small fish at close range with most of the fish being caught at distance. Ten different species in all were caught including dog fish, bull huss, flounder, small eyed ray, bass, pouting, whiting, smooth hound, gurnard & a rare spur dog.
The beach was divided up into 4 zones where the prizes & Seamaster points where decided on the continental-style allocation of points.
1st from zone 2 Lloyd Summers with 239 points, Lloyd won £500 first prize & £200 super pool.

2nd from zone 4 Shaun Tucker with 201 points, Shuan won £250 second prize & £150 super pool.

3rd from zone 1 Roy Tapper with 176.5 points. Roy one £150 third prize.

4th from zone 3 Gerald John with 163/5 points Gerald won £125 Forth Prize.

Biggest fish of the day went to Roy Tapper, he won £100

Junior winner on the day was Jaxon John with 2 dogfish & a whiting.

In second place was George Issacc, with 3rd place going to Jacob Jenkins.
