Pryce is right as Morgan bags 2026 south Wales under 18 junior coarse championship win
Last Saturday (5th September), our South Wales Under 18 junior coarse championship was held at White Springs Fishery.
It was a truly fantastic event, marked by a brilliant turnout and an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, encouragement, and genuine sportsmanship.
It was wonderful to see so many young anglers eager to put their angling skills to the test, and equally heartening to welcome both new faces and familiar ones.
𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
A special mention must go to Andrew Price, whose commitment and support were invaluable throughout the day. Fair play to him — he ran the competition superbly, guided the youngsters with patience, and spent the entire day helping them catch fish and enjoy the experience. His contribution made a real difference.
We also extend a huge thank‑you to the owners of White Springs Fishery, whose continued support allowed us to host this year’s championship at such a well‑kept and welcoming venue. Their partnership is greatly appreciated.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
The standard of angling today was exceptional, with several young competitors showing real promise for the future. While many performed strongly, one angler stood out with an outstanding performance:
- 1st Place – Pryce Morgan
62 lb 12 oz – A superb and well‑deserved winning weight.
- 2nd Place – Ioan Parry
27 lb 3 oz – A strong and confident performance.
- 3rd Place – Jayden Thomas
26 lb 9 oz – Last year’s champion returned with a very respectable result.
Every competitor should be proud of their efforts. The skill, determination, and sportsmanship shown across the board reflect the bright future of angling in South Wales.

With a good turnout taking part this year, the championship continues to grow in strength and popularity. We are already looking forward to 2027, with hopes of expanding the event even further and continuing to support the development of young anglers across the region.
