Last Saturday (13th June), Brynhenllys Fishery kindly provided the venue for Angling Cymru’s 2026 Bank Fly Fishing Competition.
For the second year running, it was held at Brynhenllys Fishery – a 2-acre lake situated in the foothills of the Black Mountains, offering outstanding views of the spectacular countryside.
Fly fishing is the only method allowed, targeting brown, rainbow, and spartic trout that range in weight from 1lb to 9lbs. The lake is stocked regularly.

A big thank you to our host Bryan and Pat, who were very kind and looked after everyone, from making tea and coffee and fetching fish and chips for lunch.
The competition was sold out, in what were tough conditions with sunshine but strong wind playing its part on the day.
