Huge congratulations to Gareth Griffiths, from Barry, who has now had his record shore-caught Tope (Galeorhinus galeus) ratified at 86lb 13oz by the British Record Fish Committee (BRFC).
It was caught on 12th May 2025 from Stackpole Quay in Pembrokeshire and was renowned angling guide Gareth’s fourth tope of over 70lb. It topped a day when he also caught tope of 51lb and 56lb.
Now ratified as a new British Record, the mammoth catch now also becomes a new Welsh Record, having been caught at Stackpole.
