Angling Cymru’s Welsh men’s carp team recently travelled to Naseby Reservoir in Northamptonshire to take part in a Celtic Cup competition, alongside Scotland and an ex-military team.
The eight-strong Wales Celtic Cup side for this year consisted of captain Neil Golden, Richard Jones, Lee Jackson, Nathan Mckenzie, Mark Harmon, Nathan Garrett, Eric Royston and Tim Jones.
After 48 hours of competition from 10:00 on the Friday to Sunday and what was a tight and close match across the sections, the final result was as follows:
1. Scotland 6pts
2. Wales 10pts
3. Ex-military 15pts
Well done to all three teams – and congratulations to Carp Team Scotland on the victory.
It won’t be long before Team Wales are back at Naseby – which is also the host venue for this year’s Men’s Tri-Nations competition which will include, in addition, a competing team from South Africa, from 13-15 June.
