Despite the horrendous weather, it was a good turnout for this year's Angling Cymru South Wales Under-18 competition, held at White Springs, on 20 September.
The youngsters fished the match lake, and this gave them the option of fishing the rod or the pole. From the off, the youngsters were catching silvers and the odd carp and they were all enjoying themselves, regardless of the rain and wind.
Jayden Thomas, on peg 13, was having some good size carp, with Ruby-Leigh Davies catching steady on peg 6. On peg 26, Bobby Landes was showing what can be caught with some brilliant rod work casting next to the island.
The weather was taking its toll on some of the youngsters, but they should be proud on the shift they put in.
Looking around the lake you could see the youngsters willing the fish to take the bait as the clock was ticking down to the call of ALL OUT and that was it.
A big thank you to Preston Innovations and Robbie Griffiths for sponsoring the championships.
Thank you to Jarrod Hill, the owner of Whitesprings, not only letting us use the venue but giving some extra prizes on the day. Also thank you to Andrew Price and Adrew Wray for the help in running the competition.
