Good turnout for North Wales Junior Coarse Championship

Fortunately the worst of the weather held off for the 2025 North Wales Junior Championships, held at The Rosie in Wepre Park on 20 September.

The 18 competitors had a good day, and everyone went away with a prize.

Half the competitors fished for the lake’s carp and the others fished for what they could catch but, unfortunately, the recent heavy rains affected the fishing and bites were hard to come by.

Fishing the pole with maggots, Osian Fitzjohn, caught a mixture of tench, skimmers, roach and ide to take the win with 13lb 11oz.

Carp anglers took the next two places and second place went to Harry Lett, with a fine carp and four micro roach, for a total of 8lb 2oz and third went to Riley Jones with a single carp of 7lb 13oz.
