New funding window open for clubs and community organisations

Earlier this week (2 April), Sport Wales re-opened applications to the Be Active Wales Fund.

Using National Lottery money, the Be Active Wales Fund offers grants between £300 and £50,000 which enable sports clubs and organisations to buy equipment, enhance their facilities and support the development of volunteers and coaches so that they can support more people to become active.

The Fund will be run differently during 2025-26, with three separate ‘windows’ during which applications can be made. This allows for multiple occasions to apply if unsuccessful in the first instance, although clubs and community organisations can only make ONE successful application per year.

•     Wednesday April 2nd – Wednesday June 4th

•     Wednesday 9th July – Wednesday 17th September

•     Wednesday November 5th – Wednesday January 14th

The first stage for any club or community group interested in funding is to fill out the community investment expression of interest form. Should your idea be eligible for the Be Active Wales Fund, you will be contacted by Sport Wales’ Investments Team.

When assessing eligible applications, the community impact of a project will be the key point taken into consideration.
