We’re Game: Brynhenllys hosts Angling Cymru’s Bank Fly Fishing Competition 2025

This weekend, Brynhenllys trout fishery, in Ystalyfera, kindly hosted Angling Cymru’s Bank Fly Fishing Competition for 2025.

Brynhenllys Fishery is a 2-acre lake situated in the foothills of the Black Mountains, offering outstanding views of the spectacular countryside. Fly fishing is the only method allowed, targeting brown, rainbow, and spartic trout that range in weight from 1lb 8oz to 9lbs. The lake is stocked regularly.

A big thank you to our host Bryan and Pat, who were very kind and looked after everyone, from making tea and coffee and fetching fish and chips for our lunch.

The competition was well attended and everyone caught fish. On average, the entrees caught on average 4.3 fish each.
